  2. heat or electricity (as opposed to an 
  3. insulator, or nonconductor). A good conductor
  4. has a high electrical or heat conductivity,
  5. and is generally a substance rich in free
  6. electrons such as a metal. A poor conductor
  7. (such as the nonmetals glass and porcelain)
  8. has few free electrons.
